About.Central Texas Speakers' Bureau will strive to provide you with trained public speakers and other Toastmasters resources. The organization was created and is maintained by current Toastmasters.

First Established in 2017
The bureau was first established in 2017 as a High Performance Leadership (HPL) project, a criterion for the Toastmasters Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) award, and now part of Pathways. Members learn and practice vital leadership skills by developing a mission and a vision, as well as, setting goals and planning, identifying values and building an action team made up of volunteers within Toastmasters or even of people or organizations within the community.

Our Goal
It is as imperative to protect the brand and image of Toastmasters and the vision, mission, and goals of the Central Texas Speakers' Bureau, which is our brand..The bureau's goal is to obtain an excellent rating on all the presentations delivered by our speakers. To have a measurable goal or outcome worthy of these efforts, all speakers are vetted through an audition and judging process, speakers are evaluated, and the booking Program Event Chairs are surveyed to assess the response of the audience to verify the speakers have met their needs.

If you are a member of your local Toastmasters, and you feel confident you have the experience to be a professional speaker, you may want to be a part of the Central Texas Speakers’ Bureau. You will need to complete the Presenter Application and Photo Release Form. Email it to the Bureau Chairman or Elite Toastmasters Vice President of Education.
You will be asked to give us your Titles-Bios-Abstracts as well as a Presentation Outline. The Elite VPE will schedule you for a 10 to 15 minute audition presentation with Elite Toastmasters. If your schedule conflicts with Elite they will arrange an audition with your club VPE. You will be assigned three trained members as anonymous judges who will use an Audition Judges Form to evaluate the quality of your presentation. After the results are tallied by the Bureau Chairman or Elite VPE, you will receive a summary and be notified of the results by email or in person. Once you are accepted as a member, the Bureau Chairman will award you with a member certificate at Elite or your home club. Your data & profile information and photo will be added to this website. Changes in Your Presentation: Presentations by Bureau speakers will retain the content, format, audio/visual needs, and room set-up as originally proposed or revised during the selection process. If changes are required, or new themes added, they must be approved by CENTRAL TEXAS SPEAKERS' BUREAU prior to the implementation of the change(s)/addition(s). When You are Contacted
The Bureau Chairman, or speaker if you are contacted directly, should complete a speaker's Request Form filling out all the necessary detail given to them from the Program Event Chair of the organization which contacted them. To close the the agreement with the Program Event Chair, you must send a letter detailing agreed-upon details. Include the speaker’s Title, Abstract and Bio or One-sheet, as well as the Event Chair Survey. Send a copy of all communication to the Bureau Chairman, or the current Toastmaster Area Director.
At the scheduled event the speaker should ask the audience to complete the Audience Evaluation Form and to return it back to the speaker at the end of the speech. This form will provide audience feedback and acknowledge the things that are done well. The form should help the speaker to improve future presentations and pinpoint future topics. If a speech evaluator was asked to accompany the speaker, he may take up the Evaluation Forms. The Speech Evaluator Form should be completed by an evaluator when giving a presentation that counts toward Toastmasters credit and Emailed or delivered to the speaker's VPE. There is to be No Advertising of Products or Services:
Your club, area and district will benefit, because you’ll build name recognition for Toastmasters while expanding the community’s awareness of your club. Speaker presentations are opportunities to contribute to the Toastmasters community as goodwill public relations. This should be reflected in the content of the presentation. These events should not be considered a venue for direct promotion of a product or service or for monetary gain. Neither your presentation nor any visual aids or handouts should promote your product or service. However, you may include your name/company name/phone number and website information on the last handout page as long as it is not an advertisement. If you are a guest speaker, you may do the same at venue table at the event. Toastmaster promotional pamphlets: Speakers can download copies of Central Texas Speakers' Bureau pamphlets from this website to give to any organization you will be presenting to. You could send or email the pamphlets to local groups you are interested in that use outside speakers, such as youth groups, Chambers of Commerce, PTA, churches, and social and civic organizations (Lions, Kiwanis and Rotary). Verify the current addresses before mailing. Follow up with a telephone call, and ask for help with booking from the Central Texas Speakers' Bureau. |
Please Help Promote!
Personal Public Relations Efforts
Print copies of the Central Texas Speakers' Bureau Business Cards to distribute. That would help! The Logo is our brand!
You can design your own business card by using the bureau logo, but please get it approved by the Bureau Chairman first.
Distribute your own One-Sheet at any of the local Toastmasters club, and to any chamber organization, association, church, or business contact.
If you need help designing a One-Sheet, look at the online examples by Karen Gaus and Tim Manson.
A print business would also also have staff that should be able to assist you for a fee.
Joint Public Relations Efforts
The Bureau Chairman is organizing a public relations plan to market the Speak - Lead- Succeed showcase event.
We will have a presence at the 4th of July Parade in Belton and on Radio Public Service Announcements.
Volunteers will be asked to help to send email notices to all the area chambers & college contact leads.
The event will also be promoted on Facebook and Evensi, and tickets will be sold on Eventbrite. Please share the event on your social media!
